HISTORY.
Childhood: Justin is the child of privilege. The third child of privilege, and it's a nice place to be. His mother, Careane Finch, is the scion of an old money family with distant ties to the British royal family. His father, William Fletchley, is one of the nouveau riche, which in Britain means that the Fletchley family made their fortune in the nineteenth century. Justin grew up having everything he wanted and then some. He was down for Eton, so it was quite the shock when his Hogwarts letter arrived. So much of a shock that it took a personal visit from Albus Dumbledore to convince his parents - especially his mother. Justin was really eager to go to Hogwarts, because it was a way to put him on a level with everyone else, or even beneath them: it was something he'd never experienced before. His parents, however, were faced with the prospect of covering up the truth of their son's education for seven years, and spread the story amongst their circle that he was at the most prestigious private school in Canada.

School Years: Hogwarts was cooler than anything Justin had ever imagined. But, with everything that happened throughout his career, from being petrified by the basilisk in his second year to Cedric Diggory's death in his fourth, Justin was constantly on the point of being pulled out of Hogwarts. He was an exceptional student, and saw a real opportunity to make his own name in a world where his family's had no meaning. He started hiding things from his parents, having the family servants make certain owls and editions of the Daily Prophet did not reach them.

There came a point when he couldn't stop hiding it, though, when the Ministry of Magic, backed up by Death Eaters, showed up at his parents' estate to arrest Justin for stealing magic. He fought them and escaped, but during the fighting, his sister suffered massive head trauma and lingered for two months before her death. Justin, on the run and out of contact with his family, did not find out until much later.

He made his way to Hogwarts for the final battle on his last legs after months of avoiding Snatchers, who nearly caught him four times. He fought several Death Eaters and killed one - a Snatcher who nearly caught him twice. He felt remorse, but at the same time an intense justification. He had killed in defense of his own life, and gotten revenge. It was a confusing bundle of feelings, and he's still working to distance himself from it.

Returning home to his family, he's spent the entire summer at his family's estate, recuperating. He wasn't sure what the next year would hold for him, but he wanted to return to Hogwarts and do it properly.
